Balaklava is one of the largest country schools in the mid north. Approximately 448 students, Y 8 –12 attend our campus. The school provides both academic and vocational pathways. It is known in the region as a very caring and supportive school.
Whilst it is in a farming region, this industry is experiencing a downturn with fewer farms in the last decade. The school has faced changes because of urban sprawl.
Balaklava High School is a zoned high school for an increasing number of families who have moved to this area to secure cheap housing. We have moved from a traditional school to an outer metropolitan school.
